SAFE RIDE HOME rideGTX
rideGTX is a City of Georgetown program that partners with Uber and zTrip to provide accessible transportation 24/7, year-round. It launched in May 2025.
Program Overview
- Uber riders get up to 10 discounted rides per month for trips that start and end in the service area. Riders pay the first $4, and the City subsidizes up to $10 per ride. Riders pay any remaining balance over $14.
- zTrip riders (WAV) get unlimited rides in the service area and also pay the first $4 per trip.
- Eligibility: Trips must start and end within the service area (Georgetown city limits plus Baylor Scott & White and Ascension Seton Williamson hospitals in Round Rock).
How to Use rideGTX
Uber Riders
- Download or use your existing Uber app (iOS or Android).
- No smartphone? Call 1-833-USE-UBER (1-833-873-8237).

Download your monthly voucher pack (up to 10 rides/month) to your Uber Wallet:

- Rides that start and end within the service area will automatically apply the voucher at checkout.
- Eligible Uber products: UberX, UberXL, UberX Share. (Premium services like Uber Priority are not eligible.)
zTrip Riders (WAV Service)
- For wheelchair-accessible rides, call the 24/7 zTrip call center: 512-337-9796.
- Ramps available for easy boarding. WAV vehicles meet ADA and DOJ requirements.
- Rides can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance and may be recurring.
- Carpooled trips count as one trip and incur only one $4 fee, regardless of the number of riders.
