✝️ Founder’s Story – David Walker
This ministry was born out of brokenness—mine.
In 2025, after enduring four major abdominal surgeries—one that nearly took my life—I found myself without insurance, without income, and without a clear way forward. But I did have something greater: a calling. A quiet but undeniable voice that said:
“You’ve walked through the valley. Now light the path for others.”
I didn’t grow up with much stability. Raised in multiple households with varying circumstances, I knew what it was like to go without proper care—especially healthcare. But even in the hardship, God was at work.
Through years of trials, setbacks, and personal struggles, He never let go. The seed of faith was planted in me early by my stepmother, who led me to Christ when I was still in elementary school. That seed grew—storm after storm—into something strong and deeply rooted.
Before Samaritans of Texas ever had a name, it lived in my heart as a vision.
This wasn’t just a dream. It was a calling.
I’ve had the honor of serving in our local church—on the Vision Team and as part of the security ministry—helping protect others so they can worship freely. My father, a military man, taught me discipline and the importance of doing everything with excellence. From him I learned: mediocrity is not love, and every person deserves dignity.
That foundation—of service, faith, and compassion—is what gave birth to Samaritans of Texas.
We exist to stop, to see, and to stay with those the world often overlooks. Our name comes straight from Scripture—and we believe deeply in the power of God’s Word as both a finished and living work. We honor the Trinity, the call to die to self, and the command to lift up the hurting—not just spiritually, but practically.
This isn’t just a nonprofit.
This is our God-ordained mission.
