Why Now? Why Here?
The Urgent Need for Samaritans of Texas in Williamson County
Williamson County is in the midst of one of the most explosive growth surges in Texas history. Since 2020, over 150,000 new residents have arrived—many driven by California transplants, remote workers, and a flood of families escaping unstable areas. The county now exceeds 750,000 people, with projections showing continued sharp growth well beyond 2025.
Yet with this booming population comes serious strain:
- 🏠 Homelessness has quadrupled since 2022—not due to laziness or drugs, but because many families are simply being priced out of housing.
- 🚓 Crime rose sharply in 2021, and though it has leveled off, law enforcement is stretched thin trying to protect a ballooning community.
- ⛪ Churches per capita are in free fall:
- • In 2010, there was 1 church for every 1,400 people.
- • In 2020, it was 1 for every 1,637.
- • In 2025, it's nearly 1 for every 1,800—and dropping fast.
There are fewer churches per person every year, even as more families flood in from out of state and across the border— many with no support system, no local community, and no place to turn when crisis hits.
This is where Samaritans of Texas steps in.
We are based right here in Williamson County. We aren’t a national group parachuting in—we are your neighbors, your brothers and sisters in Christ, your boots on the ground.
With your support, we provide:
- 💧 Emergency aid like food, water, and clothing after disasters
- 🏥 Street-level outreach to the homeless and displaced
- 🙏 Spiritual care and connection to a local body of believers
- 🛠️ Volunteer opportunities for local families who want to serve
- 🎪 Community-based events that unite faith and action in love
Samaritans of Texas is not just a nonprofit—we are a response to a spiritual and humanitarian vacuum forming in the very heart of Williamson County.
We ask our community to pray, support, and give generously—because the need is already here.
The window to act is now.
